Zoo Photography
Sunday 02 April
Henry Doorly Zoo - 10am - 3 Hours
The Zoo workshop is a follow-up practice session to the Basic Digital Photography class, meeting at the Henry Doorly Zoo to practice composition techniques. After starting in the Wild Kingdom Pavilion, we will photograph the Leid Jungle, the giraffes, and the elephants. Besides composition, we also play with the different genes of Animals, Architecture, and Street photography. The primary focus will be on practicing and experiencing the art of image-making. Any digital camera will do (including smartphones), but DSLR and Mirrorless with manual modes are strongly encouraged.
Beginner's Photography Class
Saturday 15 April
Northwest Omaha - 9am - 3 Hours
In this Beginner's Digital Photography workshop, you will primarily learn the fundamentals of image-making, as well as the elements of proper exposure and some basic camera functions. This three-hour workshop will be split between instruction and practice. The atmosphere will be open, gentle, and relaxed.
All with a digital camera are welcome, whether a DSLR, mirrorless, or a phone. Please be familiar with the camera you intend to bring, as the instructor will not be able to teach you the functions of your camera. Black & White Photography
Sunday 23 April
SAC Museum - 10am - 2.5 Hours
Learn about exposure, the histogram, and tonality in this black-and-white photography workshop. We will meet at the SAC Museum near Ashland to photograph old vintage planes (perfect for B&W image-making). DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras with manual modes are highly encouraged for this event. If your digital camera provides a histogram display and monochrome modes, then this workshop is for you.
Note there is an additional museum admission fee of $16. Also, please be familiar with the camera you intend to bring, as the instructor will not be able to teach you the functions of your camera. Fontenelle Forest Photo Hike

Fontenelle Forest - 10am - 2 Hours
Have you ever wanted to get out into nature with your camera? Then this meetup is for you. We will meet at Fontenelle Forest, walk the boardwalk, hike some trails, and photograph all the sights, colors, and textures around us. This is primarily a practice session to cultivate and hone various photography skills 2014 including composition, exposure, and perspective. Previous experience with manual modes is highly encouraged, but all with a digital camera (including a smartphone) are welcome to join.
Manual Mode Refresher Class
Saturday 20 May
Walnut Creek Recreation Area - 9am - 3 Hours
Need to refresh your knowledge of the exposure triangle? Want to feel more confident photographing in manual mode? Then this class is for you. We will discuss aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. We will also turn the camera dial to "M " and take full control of the image-making process.
This refresher will be at Walnut Creek Recreation Area from 9:00am - 12:00pm. We will meet in the parking lot on the west side of the lake, accessible from the Schram Road entrance. A digital camera with manual mode and a histogram display is required. Please make sure you are familiar with the camera you intend to bring. You can always watch YouTube tutorial videos about your camera to become more fully acquainted with its capabilities.

Event/Street Photography
Saturday 17 June
Downtown Omaha, 11th & Jackson - 9am - 2 Hours
Come and practice your photography at the downtown Omaha Farmer's Market. Learn to tell a story with images by intentionally focusing on various shot types. This practice session will incorporate skills needed for both event photography and street photography, as the two are similar genres. You will especially learn to hone your skills of observation and photographic seeing, along with composition and lighting. And as a bonus, you can also buy delicious products and produce while supporting local businesses.
